Stokesia laevis 'Elf' PPAF
Dwarf Stoke's Aster
USDA Hardiness Zone 5-9
This sport of S. 'Blue Danube' is compact, short but strong stemmed and very floriferous. The large, 2-2½" fringed flowers remain low, nesting in the dense foliage. Long lasting blooms are periwinkle-blue with a lighter center. This very cute variety with saucer shaped flowers is perfect as a cut flower, in borders, mixed beds and along walk ways. Attracts butterflies and is deer and rabbit resistant. Deadhead to encourage rebloom. Dislikes wet winter soil.
